Our Dog Bylaw is here to ensure a friendly and safe environment for everyone in Lanigan, including our four-legged friends. Here's what you need to know:

  1. Dog Licensing: All dog owners must obtain a yearly license by February 1st. Fees are $50 for restricted dogs and $15 for non-restricted dogs.
  2. Dangerous Dogs: Certain breeds and dogs with aggressive behavior are classified as dangerous and are not allowed in Lanigan.
  3. Leash Rules: Dogs must be on a leash or under control when off the owner's property.
  4. Nuisance Prevention: Owners must prevent their dogs from excessive barking, chasing vehicles, or creating disturbances.
  5. Impoundment: Fees for impounding are $50 plus $5 per day.
  6. Penalties: Fines range from $50 to $250 for various infractions.
