Tax Structure for 2024

Understanding your property tax structure is important, and we’re here to make it easy for you. Here’s a breakdown of the 2024 tax rates in Lanigan:

 

Municipal Mill Rate

  • Municipal Mill Rate: 7.28 mills

Base Tax

  • Residential (Land & Improvements): $1,125
  • Commercial & Industrial (Land & Improvements): $1,075
  • Residential, Commercial & Industrial (Land Only): $675

School Mill Rate

  • Agricultural: 1.42 mills
  • Residential: 4.54 mills
  • Commercial/Industrial: 6.86 mills
  • Resource: 9.88 mills

We’re happy to accommodate various payment methods to make it easy for you to manage your property tax payments. Here are your options:

Visit the Town Office

Stop by our office at 110 Main Street, where we accept cheque, cash, or debit. Unfortunately we do not accept Interac e-Transfer or credit cards at the office.

Pre-Authorized Debit Payment

Sign up for Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) payments by visiting our office. This allows your water and sewer bill (and/or property taxes) to be automatically debited from your bank account.

Online Payments

If you bank locally with Royal Bank of Canada or Conexus Credit Union, you can set up Lanigan as a payee for your water and sewer bills (and/or property taxes). Please call the office for your account number clarification.

Credit Card, Interac e-Transfer, and PayPal

You can pay online using credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex), Interac e-Transfer, and PayPal through PAYSIMPLY, our secure THIRD-PARTY payment provider. Visit:
