Waste Disposal
- Curbside Garbage Collection: Managed by the REACT Waste Management Authority, our automated curbside bin program ensures efficient and effective waste disposal. Collection happens every second Tuesday, and bins must be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. and removed within 18 hours. The monthly charge for this service is $11.00.
2024 Lanigan Schedule – Curbside Pickup
- REACT Transfer Station: Located 1 km west of Lanigan, this station provides an alternative disposal option for residents.
- Hours of Operation:
- Tuesday: 1:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (May to October) and 1:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Winter)
- Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Special Yard Pick-Up
- Yard Waste Collection: The Town of Lanigan offers free pick-up of grass clippings and leaves (in clear plastic bags) and branches (under a ½ ton truck load and bundled if possible) on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month. This service runs from May until freeze-up, weather permitting. For more information, please contact the Town Office.
SARCAN Services
- SARCAN Recycling: Available in Lanigan at #57 Main Street every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing an easy way to recycle beverage containers, electronics, and other materials.
