The Council of the Town of Lanigan held a regular meeting on November 4, 2024, and following are highlights of the meeting:

  • Council approved waiver of rental fees for the Royal Canadian Legion – Lanigan Branch 143 for the annual Remembrance Day service and the approval is a standing order for future years beyond 2024.
  • The 2024-2025 Saskatchewan Lotteries Grant allocations have been approved by Council as follows:

  • Council approved an amended lease agreement for new Triland Court tenants, approved the proposed plan of subdivision and gave first reading to a zoning amendment bylaw for Triland Court. Public hearing for the zoning amendment is scheduled for November 25, 2024 at 7:00 PM.
  • Council approved the proposed plan of subdivision for part of Parcel A, Plan C4715, which is the parcel of land south of the Vets Home subdivision. First reading to an Official Community Plan (OCP) amendment was given first reading and the public hearing is scheduled for November 25, 2024 at 7:00 PM.
  • Municipal election officials remuneration was set by Council and the rates are consistent with the Elections Saskatchewan rates.

A reminder about the upcoming general election on November 13, 2024, and advance poll on November 7, 2024. The election poll and advance poll will be held at the community hall in the recreation complex.
